Interlochen State Park

About a four hour trip from home, and twenty minutes from downtown Traverse City.
Interlochen State Park
One of Michigans smaller parks.  Decent sized slots, with little foliage and trees in between.  Not much of a swimming park, since the beach is little more than some sand carved out of 500 feet of Green Lake.  All the “Beware of Swimmers Itch” signs don’t encourage swim time, either.

Proximity to TC is nice.  ‘North Loop’ has lake front slots, but they’re higher elevation (with a single stairway down to the water edge).  ‘South Loop’ has several at sea level, but there’s no beach at either.

We’re still a couple weeks before the high season, so it’s very quiet with few campers.

See You Down the Road!

Update: You’ll want to make a stop at Dilbert’s for breakfast. Delicious… and the breakfast burrito is enormous.
