Ludington State Park is one of Michigans lakefront jewels and it’s no secret. Getting reservations is nearly impossible. They don’t keep “hold-backs” (sites only available for rent onsite at the office, first come first serve), and the day use area is about the size of a downtown boutique parking lot. Needless to say, camping the park takes a little creativity.
That’s where MI-116 comes in. A couple miles of two-lane with shoulder, running along the Lake Michigan shore. Perfect location for a lakefront Airstream cottage.
